2024 Rates

**We welcome children at Casitas de Gila! But please note that our 2-bedroom Casita is the ONLY CASITA SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AGE 5 OR YOUNGER! Please see paragraph below about children.

All rates include Continental Breakfast foods, enough for at least 4 nights.

There is a $20 per night additional charge for stays over the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's holiday periods.

NM Gross Receipts Tax of 6.3125% and Grant Co. Lodgers Tax of 5% are additional.

Please be sure to read our deposit and cancellation policies below before you make your reservation.

Rates and Policies are subject to change without notice. However, when you make a reservation at the above rates, that rate is guaranteed.

We reserve the right to require a minimum stay over any Holiday Period.

Pets:

Out of consideration for people who are allergic to animals,
we regret that we DO NOT ALLOW PETS at Casitas de Gila Guesthouses.

Drones:

Out of consideration for the wildlife and birds we encourage to be here,
we regret that we DO NOT ALLOW THE USE OF DRONES at Casitas de Gila Guesthouses.

EV & Plug-In Hybrid Owners:

EV & PLUG-IN HYBRID OWNERS PLEASE NOTE: We have five Casitas, but ONLY ONE IS SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT NEEDS TO BE PLUGGED IN! If you wish to charge your vehicle while you are here, you need to contact us in advance to make sure this Casita is available for your dates.

Also, there will be a $10 per night charge for electricity. Please also note that there is no fast-charging station in the Silver City area. There is a charging station in Lordsburg and in Deming.

Children:

We recognize that the incredible quiet we have at Casitas de Gila Guesthouses and Nature Preserve is difficult to find in the world today, and we want all our guests to be able to enjoy it. Casitas de Gila is a wonderful place for children who love nature and the out-of-doors. We understand that children are happy and boisterous, but we do ask that you and your children be respectful of other guests who have come here anticipating a quiet getaway.

Children age 5 and younger are welcome in Casita del Sol y la Luna, our 2-bedroom Casita, which can accommodate up to 6 people. Our 1-bedroom casitas can accommodate up to 3 people, including children age 6 and over.

Guests must be at least 18 years old to occupy a Casita without an adult. In other words, we will not make a room reservation for a minor without an adult staying in the room as well.

Children under the age of 16 must be in the company of an adult at all times when on our property and may not be left alone in a Casita.

Our hot tub is currently leaking and therefore not operational.

Groups at the Casitas:

Due to our small size, the proximity of our Casitas to each other, and how quiet it is here, we are often unable to accommodate reservations requiring three or more Casitas, or parties of more than 7 people (whether booking as one party or several parties travelling together but booking individually), especially during our busiest times of the year.

We recognize that the incredible quiet we have at Casitas de Gila is difficult to find in the world today, and we want all our guests to be able to enjoy it. We limit groups at the Casitas while we have other guests here out of consideration for those other guests who have come here to experience this quiet.    

As a general rule, when three or more Casitas are requested, all five Casitas must be reserved. There is a minimum two-night stay for parties reserving all five Casitas. We are most able to accommodate groups during July and August, early December, and January, and often during June. We are unable to accommodate groups during holiday periods and Monday-holiday weekends.

We are happy to talk with you about a group reservation, and because there are many factors involved, we may be able to make adjustments to our policy to accommodate you.

GROUP DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY: One person shall be responsible for full payment and any damage that might occur. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due at the time the reservation is made. The balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival. Once the balance has been paid, if the reservation is cancelled refunds will be made subject to our ability to fill the cancelled rooms.

If you have a concern about having to cancel your reservation after the non-refundable deposit has been made, we strongly recommend the purchase of TRAVEL INSURANCE.

When reserving our Casitas for a group, please keep in mind that our Casitas and grounds are solely for the use of your group, and outside guests are not permitted.

Casita Amenities:

A generous Continental Breakfast is included; more than enough for the first four nights. This includes baked sweetbreads, English muffins, bagels, cereals, 2% milk, orange juice, coffee, tea.

Kitchens are stocked with condiments (salt, pepper, ketchup, mustard, spices, butter, jam, etc.), charcoal, charcoal starter … this is included in the nightly rate!

All our kitchens are full kitchens, with a range/oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker, toaster, dishes, glassware, cutlery, pots and pans … they're as well equipped as your kitchen at home!

Each Casita has a picnic table and Weber charcoal bbq grill. We also have 2 gas bbq grills available (shared by the Casitas closest to them).

Free WIFI in each Casita, outside around the Casitas, and at our astronomy area.

Each Casita has a kiva fireplace inside (seasonal), a chimenea outside, and a supply of firewood.

Linens, towels, bath supplies, bathrobes, hair dryers, clock radios.

Telephone in each Casita. Your cell phone will not work at the Casita. Enable WiFi Calling in your newer smartphone's settings and your phone will work over our WiFi.

We sit on 265 acres with over 7 miles of hiking trails, including a Self-guided Nature Trail, and access to Bear Creek.

Library of information on Southwestern New Mexico, its culture, history, activities, and attractions.

Spotting scope and star charts in each Casita for viewing our incredibly dark night sky, and birds and wildlife.

Reservation, Deposit & Cancellation Policies:

Reservations require a 50% deposit at time of reservation. We accept all major credit cards.

If your plans should change and you find it necessary to cancel your reservation, we would appreciate knowing as early as possible.

If you fail to cancel your reservation, any deposit paid will be forfeited.

We regret there are no refunds or credits within 48 hours of arrival date for early departures, late arrivals or cancellations. If your reservation is for one night and you cancel less than 48 hours prior to arrival, you will be charged for the entire amount of your stay.

If no deposit has been taken and you cancel your reservation less than 10 days prior to arrival, you will be charged for one night including taxes.

If a deposit has been taken and you cancel your reservation more than 21 days prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded less a $30 per casita cancellation fee. If your cancellation is less than 21 days prior to arrival, please see next two items.

NON-HOLIDAY PERIOD BALANCE & CANCELLATION POLICY

The balance owed on your reservation is payable on arrival.

Refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 21 days prior to arrival subject to our ability to fill the reservation and less a $30 per casita cancellation fee. If we cannot fill your cancelled reservation, we will extend to you a credit for the amount of your deposit to be used for another stay at Casitas de Gila within 12 months of your originally scheduled stay. One reschedule only, please.

HOLIDAY PERIOD BALANCE & CANCELLATION POLICY

We reserve the right to require a minimum stay over any Holiday Period.

The balance owed on your reservation is payable 21 days prior to arrival.

Refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 21 days prior to arrival subject to our ability to fill the reservation and less a $30 per casita cancellation fee. This means that if we can fill your cancelled room(s), we will happily refund your money (less the cancellation fees). Otherwise, we regret we can make no refunds.

We dislike charging anyone for time they are not here — that's not our goal, and maintaining goodwill is important to us as a business. But we do have only a limited number of rooms and late cancellations often cost us the chance to book the room to someone else.

We strongly recommend the purchase of TRAVEL INSURANCE!

Check-In and Check-Out Times:

Check-in is between 3 PM and 6 PM. We are happy to accommodate early and late arrivals, but it is necessary for you to notify us in advance so that we are sure to be available.

We do ask that departures be made by 10 AM so we have time to prepare the Casitas for our next guests. We will always try to accommodate late departures; 24-hour notice is needed so we can alert our housekeeping staff. Please note that our housekeeping staff may not be able to adjust their schedule.
