Out of consideration for the wildlife and birds we encourage to be here, we regret that we DO NOT ALLOW THE USE OF DRONES at Casitas de Gila Guesthouses.
PLEASE NOTE: We have five Casitas, but ONLY ONE IS SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT NEEDS TO BE PLUGGED IN! If you wish to charge your vehicle while you are here, you need to contact us in advance to make sure this Casita is available for your dates.
Also, there will be a $5 per night charge for electricity. Please also note that there is no fast-charging station in the Silver City area. There is a charging station in Lordsburg and in Deming.
We recognize that the incredible quiet we have at Casitas de Gila Guesthouses and Nature Preserve is difficult to find in the world today, and we want all our guests to be able to enjoy it. Casitas de Gila is a wonderful place for children who love nature and the out-of-doors. We understand that children are happy and boisterous, but we do ask that you and your children be respectful of other guests who have come here anticipating a quiet getaway.
Children age 5 and younger are welcome in Casita del Sol y la Luna, our 2-bedroom Casita, which can accommodate up to 6 people. Our 1-bedroom casitas can accommodate up to 3 people, including children age 6 and over.
Due to our small size, the proximity of our Casitas to each other, and how quiet it is here, we are often unable to accommodate reservations requiring three or more Casitas, or parties of more than 7 people (whether booking as one party or several parties travelling together but booking individually), especially during our busiest times of the year.
We recognize that the incredible quiet we have at Casitas de Gila is difficult to find in the world today, and we want all our guests to be able to enjoy it. We limit groups at the Casitas while we have other guests here out of consideration for those other guests who have come here to experience this quiet.
As a general rule, when three or more Casitas are requested, all five Casitas must be reserved. There is a minimum two-night stay for parties reserving all five Casitas. We are most able to accommodate groups during July and August, early December, and January, and often during June.
We are unable to accommodate groups during holiday periods and Monday-holiday weekends
We are happy to talk with you about a group reservation, and because there are many factors involved, we may be able to make adjustments to our policy to accommodate you.
GROUP DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY: One person shall be responsible for full payment and any damage that might occur. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due at the time the reservation is made. The balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival. Once the balance has been paid, if the reservation is cancelled refunds will be made subject to our ability to fill the cancelled rooms.
If you have a concern about having to cancel your reservation after the non-refundable deposit has been made, we strongly recommend the purchase of TRAVEL INSURANCE.
When reserving our Casitas for a group, please keep in mind that our Casitas and grounds are solely for the use of your group, and outside guests are not permitted.
If your plans should change and you find it necessary to cancel your reservation, we would appreciate knowing as early as possible.
If you fail to cancel your reservation, any deposit paid will be forfeited.
We regret there are no refunds or credits within 48 hours of arrival date for early departures, late arrivals or cancellations. If your reservation is for one night and you cancel less than 48 hours prior to arrival, you will be charged for the entire amount of your stay.
If no deposit has been taken and you cancel your reservation less than 10 days prior to arrival, you will be charged for one night including taxes.
If a deposit has been taken and you cancel your reservation more than 21 days prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded less a $30 per casita cancellation fee. If your cancellation is less than 21 days prior to arrival, please see next two items.
The balance owed on your reservation is payable on arrival.
Refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 21 days prior to arrival subject to our ability to fill the reservation and less a $30 per casita cancellation fee. If we cannot fill your cancelled reservation, we will extend to you a credit for the amount of your deposit to be used for another stay at Casitas de Gila within 12 months of your originally scheduled stay. One reschedule only, please.
We reserve the right to require a minimum stay over any Holiday Periods.
The balance owed on your reservation is payable 21 days prior to arrival.
Refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 21 days prior to arrival subject to our ability to fill the reservation and less a $30 per casita cancellation fee. This means that if we can fill your cancelled room(s), we will happily refund your money (less the cancellation fees). Otherwise, we regret we can make no refunds.
We dislike charging anyone for time they are not here — that’s not our goal, and maintaining goodwill is important to us as a business. But we do have only a limited number of rooms and late cancellations often cost us the chance to book the room to someone else.
GROUP RESERVATIONS have different policies. Please see above under “Groups At The Casitas”.
Check-in is between 3 PM and 6 PM. We are happy to accommodate early and late arrivals, but it is necessary for you to notify us in advance so that we are sure to be available.
We do ask that departures be made by 10 AM so we have time to prepare the Casitas for our next guests. We will always try to accommodate late departures; 24-hour notice is needed so we can alert our housekeeping staff. Please note that our housekeeping staff may not be able to adjust their schedule.
